New South Wales records 34,759 COVID cases

New South Wales has recorded 34,759 new cases overnight and 21 deaths as Premier Dominic Perrottet reveals his plan to get the state on track.

Mr Perrottet said New South Wales was in a transition phase and there is no alternative but to push through the Omicron variant.

He said the virus was now endemic and the future would include a heavily reliance on rapid antigen tests as he considers making them available for parents at schools.

The tests could also be made free at pharmacies through a voucher system.
